Job summary

Reed is seeking a technically capable Quality Assurance Manager to join a growing operations team in Wakefield, UK. You will oversee QA across multiple live projects, perform site inspections, and prepare detailed quality reports for management and clients.

The role requires strong knowledge of sprinkler and fire protection systems, fluency with QA standards, and the ability to liaise with project teams to drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in sprinkler and/or fire protection sectors.
• Understanding of QA, inspections and technical compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs and documentation.
• Knowledge of British Standards and LPCB requirements.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• LPCB, CSCS and SSSTS qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality assurance across 10-15 live projects.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor installation quality, workmanship, and compliance.
• Produce detailed quality reports for management and client review.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, British Standards, LPCB requirements, and client expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, defects, and corrective actions.
• Identify non-conformances and work with project, design, and installation teams to resolve issues.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Attend site and client meetings as the quality representative.
• Conduct internal audits and monitor adherence to quality management systems.
• Drive continuous improvement through corrective and preventative actions.
• Monitor workmanship standards across employees and subcontractors.
• Support project readiness for client inspections, LPCB audits, and handover.
• Assist with maintaining ISO 9001, LPCB, and other accreditation requirements.

• Experience within the sprinkler, water mist, fire protection, mechanical services, or building services sectors.
• Understanding of quality assurance, inspections, and technical compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Knowledge of British Standards, LPCB requirements, and industry best practice.
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and produce concise management reports.
• Confidence when liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and installation teams.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• LPCB, CSCS, and SSSTS qualifications.
