Job summary

Orange Monkey Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a QA Manager for a renowned food manufacturer in Uttoxeter. You will lead the Quality Assurance function, manage a team of about seven, and ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP and retailer standards in a busy production environment.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will drive food safety, product quality and continuous improvement across the site, with a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule and a £45,000 salary.

Qualifications

• Proven QA management experience within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP and food safety standards.
• Experience leading audits and working with major retailer requirements.
• A solid understanding of traceability, gap analysis and quality management systems.
• Previous experience leading and managing a QA team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to challenge existing processes and standards.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the site's Quality Assurance team, ensuring high standards are maintained across production.
• Ensuring compliance with BRC, HACCP and relevant food safety standards.
• Managing traceability systems and carrying out gap analysis to identify and address areas for improvement.
• Ensuring the site meets the specific quality and food safety requirements of major retailers.
• Leading BRC and customer audits, ensuring the site is fully prepared and compliant.
• Investigating customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Working closely with production, engineering and technical teams to maintain and improve site standards.
• Driving continuous improvement across the site's Quality Management System.

Are you an experienced QA Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing? We're working with an established food manufacturer in Uttoxeter looking for a confident, proactive individual to take ownership of its Quality Assurance function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high food safety standards and driving continuous improvement within a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role
