This role offers an opportunity to be part of the inaugural brewery team for Guinness Open Gate Brewery, London (GOGBL), a 15 HL experimental brewery and consumer experience site under construction. The initial focus will be on laboratory and brewery start-up activities. The QA Manager will collaborate with lab equipment suppliers and technicians to install, calibrate, and stock lab supplies. The role also involves working with Guinness global quality standards, developing SOPs, and conducting baseline microbiological and analytical tests during brewery commissioning.
GOGBL is located on a historic brewing site in Covent Garden, featuring a brewery, consumer experience areas, retail stores, event spaces, and restaurants. The team includes senior brewers and brewers reporting to the Head of Site Operations.
The QA Manager will ensure beer quality and sensory standards are met, conduct quality processes, and maintain lab equipment. The role also involves food safety and HACCP responsibilities, supporting the brewery’s reputation for quality and safety, and fostering an inclusive environment.
Long periods of standing, walking, climbing, and handling heavy objects up to 25kg are required. Work involves exposure to temperature variations, noise, pressurized systems, chemicals, and machinery. Weekend and holiday work may be necessary.
