Job summary

BAE Systems in Scotstoun is recruiting for a Lead Quality Engineer to oversee quality assurance activities at ship integration level and across the supply chain for T26 Combat Systems projects. You will ensure suppliers and operations teams deliver work right first time while guiding, coaching, and developing others to achieve quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, communication, and the ability to drive improvements in a dynamic defence

Qualifications

• Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001/AQAP) in regulated environments.
• Confident communicator capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels and adapting messages for reporting and problem solving.
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to drive continuous improvement in demanding environments.
• Experience/knowledge of design requirements management, verification & validation, and product lifecycle management in defence/manufacturing/engineering/quality contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex problem-solving activities across the business and supply chain, engaging senior leaders.
• Guide cross-functional project teams in applying processes, standards and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive continuous enhancement of processes and products.
• Build collaborative relationships with suppliers, influencing stakeholders up to executive level.
• Witness key project events, review outcomes, and approve deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
