JAM Recruitment Ltd seeks a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer (Quality Infrastructure) to join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation onsite in Barrow. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to the Quality Management System and driving quality improvements.

The successful candidate will act as SME within Quality, support internal and supplier audits, and help maintain documentation across cross-functional teams. Rate: £65.19/hr inside IR35 umbrella, contract around 6 months.

• Minimum experience as a quality professional in manufacturing or aerospace environments.
• Experience leading internal and supplier audits.
• Understanding of local Quality Management System documentation.

Contract: 6 months

RATE: £65.19 per hour inside IR35 umbrella

The role:

The role of the Quality Engineer is to provide specialist guidance and support to the Quality Function whilst ensuring that the Business Unit remains compliant to the local Quality Business Management System

A competent Quality professional capable of managing own tasks, delivering results, anticipating and escalating problem areas

Experience:

• Work as a fully contributory member of the Quality team and support the development of others within specialist area
• Responsible for demonstrating SHE and responsible business behaviours
• Undertake specialist non-routine and or complex Quality Assurance activities and tasks in their related area
• Manage own development
• Able to access, have a clear understanding of and develop the local Management System documentation e.g. policies, procedures, workmanship standards, risk assessments and processes in their related area
• Ensure cross functional processes are deployed and adhered to
• Lead/support internal audits and supplier audits

Skills:

• Understanding and application of ISO 9001/ EN9100 standards
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) own discipline within Quality and a broad understanding of other Quality related disciplines
• Understanding of Business Management Systems, Operational Framework and Operational Assurance process
• Knowledge of and experience of product safety
• Understanding the importance of cross functional integration across the Business Unit to achieve overall goals of the Function
• Export requirements knowledge (for example International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)) (where applicable)
