Lead QA - Once a week in the Manchester office

This is an excellent opportunity for a Lead QA with prior experience managing QA and Automation Engineers. You will oversee a team of 5 QA engineers and support the implementation of an automation framework, so understanding the importance of automation is essential.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Lead and mentor QA and Automation Engineers
2. Hold one-on-one meetings with your team
3. Collaborate with the Head of Development, Software Engineering Manager, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies
4. Implement and maintain automated test suites for functional testing, regression testing, API, and performance testing
5. Identify, document, and track software defects; work closely with development teams to resolve them
6. Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release management activities to ensure high-quality software releases
7. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in software testing and automation
8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency

Experience required:

• Experience in line management
• Knowledge of automation testing and hands-on experience in automated API testing
• Experience in test plan preparation, estimation, and status reporting
• Experience writing performance tests and identifying areas for improvement across a platform
• Manual testing experience (UAT, system, regression)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with cloud platforms
• Version control experience (Git)
• Prior experience mentoring or leading junior team members
