Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) in Dundee, UK, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support product and process quality across the Dundee facility and develop into a Quality System Engineer (QSE) role. The role offers structured training in Quality Systems, certifications, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and achieved
  • Support internal and external audits and develop auditing capability
  • Maintain quality procedures, records and document control systems
  • Investigate non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions
  • Conduct root cause analysis using standard tools
  • Assist with risk management and change control activities
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support customer quality requirements and audit preparation
  • Develop knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements (ISO9001, ATEX, MID, UL)
  • Provide training and compliance support across the business
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to improve manufacturing quality
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices

Position summary

As a Quality Engineer you will play a key role supporting product and process quality across the Dundee facility while developing into a future Quality System Engineer (QSE) role. This position is ideal for a Quality professional with a strong engineering and manufacturing background who is interested in growing their expertise in Quality Management System (QMS) and auditing.

The successful candidate will initially support Quality activities across manufaturing, engineering, and supply chains functions, while receiving structured training and development in Quality Systems, certifications, and audits, and regulatory compliance.

DFS is certified to several international standards including ISO 9001, ATEX, MID, and UL. Over time, the Quality Engineer will gain exposure to working with certification bodies, supporting audits, and maintaining compliance with national and international standards and legislation.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated to develop into a Quality System leadership position within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Working with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.) to ensure quality requirements are understood and achieved

  • Staying informed on industry trends, standards, and best practices
  • This role is designed to develop into a Quality Systems Engineer position. The successful candidate must demonstrate the willingness, capability, and flexibility to be trained in:
  • Quality Management Systems ownershipInternal and external auditing

  • Continuous improvement of company-wide quality systems

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet the following Essential Criteria:

  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working in a Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Quality roleGood practical knowledge of quality standards and manufacturing quality processes
  • Understanding of ISO9001 principles (lead auditor certification desirable but not essential)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with Lean tools such as 5 Why, Ishikawa, A3, and 8D
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong team-working and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated willingness and interest in developing into a Quality Systems-focused role
  • Previous experience supporting or participating in audits
  • Experience within regulated manufacturing environments Exposure to Quality Management Systems and document control processes
  • Internal or Lead Auditor training/certification
