Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to maintain ISO 9001 systems, manage NCRs and drive CAPA. The role focuses on compliance, documentation and problem solving rather than routine inspection, with a view to continuous improvement.

You will work with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales to analyze quality data, implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness at a global manufacturing site in Hyde.

Quality Assurance Engineer / QMS Engineer

£40,000-£45,000 + Training + Career Progression

Are you a Quality Assurance Engineer or QMS Engineer with experience maintaining ISO 9001 systems and managing NCRs, CAPA and corrective actions within manufacturing?

Do you want to take responsibility for quality systems and continuous improvement in a role focused on compliance, documentation and problem-solving rather than routine dimensional inspection?

On offer is the opportunity to join an established UK manufacturer of bolts and pipeline products, supplying customers across global markets from a 24/7 production facility. With almost 50 years of industry experience, the business is committed to maintaining high quality standards and improving its manufacturing processes.

In this role, you will maintain and develop the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, manage non-conformances from initial investigation through to closure and drive CAPA activity. You will also support internal and external audits, control quality documentation and investigate customer and supplier issues.

You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales, using quality data and structured root cause analysis to identify recurring problems, implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.

This role would suit a Quality Assurance Engineer, Quality Systems Engineer or Manufacturing Quality Engineer who has previously taken ownership of QMS processes, NCRs, CAPA and continuous improvement.

The Role:

• Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, controlled procedures, traceability records and manufacturing documentation packs
• Manage NCRs through containment, root cause investigation, corrective action, CAPA implementation and verified closure
• Support internal, certification and customer audits, alongside supplier and customer quality investigations
• Drive continuous improvement using quality data and tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone and 8D

The Person:

• Quality Assurance Engineer, Quality Systems Engineer, Quality Engineer or similar
• Experience maintaining ISO 9001 systems, quality documentation and audit compliance
• Experience managing NCRs, root cause analysis, CAPA and corrective actions
• Manufacturing background; experience with engineered components, traceability or supplier quality is beneficial
