Job summary

Navantia Group at the Methil yard is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Manager in maintaining ISO 9001 certification and driving site, project, and supplier QA initiatives. This on-site role focuses on ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and BS EN 1090 across operations, and coordinating with NDT and Dimensional Control for inspections.

• Recognised qualification in Engineering, Quality, or similar discipline (BTEC / NVQ or higher preferred).
• Experience in a similar role.
• Internal Auditor qualification. (CQI or IRCA approved course is desirable)

Responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 9001 certification and support continuous improvement across operations.
• Liaise with NDT and Dimensional Control to support inspection and validation processes.
• Support quality planning for projects and manage site quality documentation and deliverables.
• Conduct internal audits and supplier audits; ensure corrective actions are tracked.
• Interface with clients, classification societies, and external auditors for the QMS.
• Provide on-site guidance to production teams to foster quality culture.

Job Description

The Quality Engineer will assist in supporting the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Manager in maintaining the ISO 9001 certification for the Methil yard. This role will also be expected to assist with all Site, Project, and Supplier Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement requirements and initiatives.
