Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant for a growing food manufacturing business in Pontypridd, South Wales. You will support the Technical team, help ensure food safety and regulatory compliance, and develop your career in a fast-paced production environment.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will maintain quality documentation, run KPI data, assist with investigations and audits, and work cross-functionally with Production, Operations and Technical teams to

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Experience in QA, QC or Technical role.
• Good understanding of GMP, HACCP and food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day activities of Technical and Quality function.
• Maintain and update quality, compliance and food safety documentation.
• Produce technical reports, KPI data, trend analysis and support data management.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support internal audits, traceability exercises and site compliance programmes.
• Monitor adherence to product specifications, quality standards and food safety.
• Collaborate with Production, Operations and Technical teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with technical projects and site development activities.
• Help ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements and site procedures.

Quality Assurance Assistant

Location: Pontypridd, South Wales
Salary: £30,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Our client, a well-established and growing food manufacturing business, is looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Assistant to join their Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food manufacturing quality systems who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced production environment.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in supporting food safety, quality and compliance standards across the site, ensuring products consistently meet both customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day activities of the Technical and Quality function.
• Maintain and update quality, compliance and food safety documentation.
• Produce technical reports, KPI data, trend analysis and support data management activities.

About You

• Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Technical role.
• Good understanding of GMP, HACCP and food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple departments.
• A proactive and positive approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop within the food industry.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and data management systems.
