This is an important role within the business, supporting the ongoing development and implementation of quality management systems in line with BRCGS, M&S and HACCP requirements.

Working closely with the Technical Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring products meet the required quality standards, supporting audits, monitoring production processes and helping maintain compliance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance: Maintain and monitor quality assurance procedures to ensure raw materials, production processes and finished products meet required standards.

Food Safety & HACCP: Support the implementation and maintenance of HACCP methods, ensuring food safety procedures are consistently followed.

Quality Testing: Carry out routine quality checks, organoleptic testing and temperature monitoring to ensure products meet specification.

Audits & Compliance: Conduct daily and weekly internal audits, including hygiene, glass and hard plastic audits, identifying non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.

Product Development: Assist with new product development, including ingredient sourcing, product trials and the introduction of new ingredients.

Product Labelling: Review and maintain product labelling information to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant requirements.

Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers regarding quality standards, approvals, product specifications and compliance documentation.

Customer Communication: Support customer enquiries and complaints, gathering relevant information and assisting with investigations and resolutions.

Laboratory Testing: Coordinate product samples for microbiological, chemical and allergen testing to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

What You’ll Bring

Quality Assurance Experience: Previous experience in a Quality Assurance, Technical or Food Safety role, ideally within food manufacturing.

HACCP Knowledge: A good understanding of HACCP principles and food safety management systems.

BRCGS Awareness: Understanding of BRCGS Global Standards and the importance of maintaining audit-ready procedures.

Attention to Detail: A methodical approach to quality checks, documentation, product labelling and compliance records.

Analytical Skills: The ability to identify quality issues, investigate non-conformances and contribute to root cause analysis.

Communication: Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams.

Organisation: Good time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy production environment.

IT Skills: Competence with computer systems and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Teamwork: A proactive and cooperative approach, with the ability to work independently and contribute positively to the wider Technical team.

Professional Approach: A reliable, self-motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards of work and food safety.

Why Apply?

Work–Life Balance: Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday working week.

Career Development: Build your experience within a food manufacturing business, developing your knowledge of quality systems, audits and food safety compliance.

Variety: Gain exposure to a broad range of responsibilities, including quality testing, supplier approvals, product development and customer requirements.

Technical Experience: Work closely with the Technical Manager and develop your understanding of industry standards, including BRCGS, M&S and HACCP.

Meaningful Contribution: Play an important role in ensuring products are safe, compliant and consistently meet the highest quality standards.

Location: Join the team at Dartford, with a convenient weekday working pattern.
