Title Quality Assurance Analyst

Division Change Delivery

Reports to Quality Assurance Manager

Job Purpose

As the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst within the Change Delivery Team of Amwins Global Risks (AGR), you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and effectiveness of business change initiatives.

This role involves leading QA processes for projects aimed at transforming business operations, implementing new systems, and improving workflows. The QA Analyst will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to maintain high standards in project execution, ensuring that deliverables meet business requirements, compliance standards, and customer needs.

To provide quality assurance expertise in the delivery of projects and programmes supporting Amwins priorities. This could include the design, development and/or implementation of new or enhanced services, tools, technology, standards and applications.

Key Stakeholders

  • Work closely with the teams of the Director of Operations, Head of Business Systems, Head of Infrastructure and Heads of Data & Analytics within AGR.
  • Work closely with US Amwins IT teams, including Quality Assurance Manager to ensure alignment with standard operating procedures, policies and industry best practice.
  • Work closely with business units across AGR (broking, underwriting, binders).
  • Work closely with third party service providers and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution: responsible for the creation of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts, ensuring they are aligned with project requirements and objectives. Will be expected to execute manual and automated test cases.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential testing risks/issues in systems/projects and aid teams in developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders including business analysts, project managers, developers, and external vendors to ensure testing activities align with business change objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement processes, introducing automation in the future, advanced testing tools, and practices to drive operational efficiency and quality.
  • Defect Tracking & Reporting: defect identification, prioritisation, and resolution, ensuring clear communication with the development and change management teams.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Support coordination of UAT by helping prepare users to undertake testing (data, plans, scripts, test cases).
  • System Integration Testing (SIT): Prepare, plan and execute System Test level scripts, using appropriate API testing tools (including data and environment preparation)
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure comprehensive documentation QA activities, providing regular updates and quality reports to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Testing Tools & Methodologies: Proficient in setting up and executing manual and automated testing, and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyse testing issues, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable insights.
  • Risk & Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with internal risk and compliance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage testing expectations.
  • Self-Motivated: Self-motivated team player to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when faced with challenges during testing.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Multi-tasking: Ability to work under pressure on a number of different projects simultaneously.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience of working in Lloyds and London Insurance Market, in Broking and/or Underwriting and knowledge of working with Broking/Underwriting systems.
  • Quality Assurance Expertise: Previous experience of testing (font-end and back-end), working in a quality assurance role +5 years.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps is desirable but not essential.
  • Business Change Projects: Demonstrable experience of working on business change initiatives, system migrations, or workflow transformations.
  • Good knowledge of setting-up and managing testing aspects within Azure DevOps.
  • Experience using API testing tools e.g. Postman, SoapUI

Qualification

  • Relevant QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE,BCS or equivalent).
  • Project management or business change certifications (e.g., Prince2, PMP, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
