Job summary

Sofina Foods in Grimsby is hiring a production quality co-ordinator to help maintain food safety and quality standards across the site. You will audit processes, check materials, and ensure labeling and temperature controls meet specifications.

The ideal candidate will have Level 2 Food Hygiene, auditing experience, and familiarity with chilled and frozen meal production, plus strong numeracy and MS Office skills. This is a full-time role with on-site working hours.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
  • Quality auditing experience required.
  • Experience in chilled and frozen meal production.
  • Knowledge of fish products and processing.
  • Capable of delivering objectives and KPIs.
  • Able to participate in audits across production and packing.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare area or production line by ensuring machines meet performance and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure customer and legal requirements are met and product conforms to specification.
  • Check incoming raw materials and ingredients against internal specs.
  • Calibrate weight and temperature equipment and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure product labels comply with requirements.
  • Conduct regular site audits according to procedures.
  • Report non-conformances to Line Manager.
  • Collect samples for laboratory testing.
  • Support production team and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Investigate internal non-conformances thoroughly.
  • Drive right-first-time attitude among colleagues.
  • Inform Line Manager of issues impacting production plan.
  • Carry out process control checks to ensure adherence to specification.

Job description

£14.76 per hour

Summary

Play a key role in maintaining food safety and quality standards across our production site.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure area / production line is ready by checking appropriate machines and areas are set to correct performance, food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ensuring all customer and legal requirements are met and product conforms to specification.
  • Checking incoming raw materials and ingredients ensuring they meet our internal specification.
  • Ensuring that weight and temperature measuring equipment is properly calibrated and issues reporting to Technical FLM without unreasonable delays.
  • Checking product labels conform to requirements.
  • Performing regular routine audits on site in line with procedures.
  • Reporting any non-conformance issues to Line Manager.
  • Collecting samples for laboratory testing.
  • Supporting the production team to get things done and recorded correctly, and making sure that everyone complies with company food safety procedures.
  • Ensure internal Non-conformances are investigated thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Drive right first time attitude amongst fellow work colleagues, including production.
  • Advise Line Manager of any issues preventing the production plan being achieved.
  • Carry out process control checks at set intervals ensuring adherence to specification.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or equivalent)
  • Quality Auditing experience.
  • Experience of working in Chilled and frozen environments working with meals production, coated fish products and white fish processing products.
  • Knowledge of fish products, Production & Packing products around coated processing.
  • Efficient in delivering objectives and key measures.
  • Ability to take part in Production & Packing segments of audits.
  • Ability to manage priorities and projects across your area / line.
  • A personal commitment to role model behaviours and to setting the standard.
  • A working understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
