About the role

Balfour Beatty is currently looking for a Quality Advisor to join our Power T&D team based in Ipswich. The Bramford to Twinstead National Grid Overhead Line (BTNO) project is a £363 million initiative to reinforce the 400kV/275kV electricity transmission network between Bramford, Suffolk, and Twinstead Tee, Essex.

What you'll be doing

As a Quality Advisor, you'll support the coordination, submission, compliance, and management of all assurance activities, ensuring the implementation of procedures including submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection plans for delivery of the works.

• Attend pre-start meetings for significant projects.
• Support project teams in developing and following quality and inspection/test plans.
• Assist delivery teams in achieving deliverables and managing issues, providing quality advice to supply chain.
• Use systems to establish and agree sample and benchmark plans with customers and supply chain.
• Monitor quality performance using digital systems.
• Support project handover records delivery as per customer requirements.
• Work according to Business Management System processes and procedures.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Implement project or business stream quality strategies and plans.
• Assist in training, coaching, and developing quality skills.
• Support the establishment of a culture of continual improvement.

Who we're looking for

The essential qualities/experiences include:

• Prior quality and/or operational/technical experience.
• Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Construction, or Manufacturing or PCQI.
• Knowledge of ISO9000 terminology and commitment to Quality Management.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate facts.
• Attention to detail and ability to see tasks through to completion.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in modern office systems (Office 365).
• Working towards or holding CQI Practitioner status.

Desirable qualities include:

• ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor training.
• Experience with Digital Progressive Assurance systems.
• Operational experience in construction or asset management.
