Job summary

Long-Term Teachers is working with a friendly two-form entry primary school in the BS23 area of Weston. They are seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant with strong experience or understanding of SEND, specifically ASD, to join ASAP in a full-time role.

You will support children with ASD, collaborate with the SENDCO and staff, and help create an inspiring, inclusive classroom where every child can develop communication and social skills.

Qualifications

• Level 3 TA qualification and SEND/ASD experience required.
• Experience working with SEN/ASD children is essential.
• Strong communication with staff and ability to adapt activities.

Responsibilities

• Support ASD/SEN pupils to build communication and development.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt activities to pupils' needs.

Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working closely with an amazing 2 form entry Primary School in the BS23 area of Weston.

This warming school is seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who has a great understanding or experience of working with SEND children - Specifically ASD.

This diverse and inclusive school has a wonderful resource based classroom, which is growing and needs supportive and nurturing staff to join their team.

The Role

As a successful candidate, you will join the team as soon as possible. You will be working closely with a team of caring and gentle staff, who work tirelessly to support children with ASD to build their confidence in communication, social aspects, education and personal development.

The Head Teacher is looking for a friendly, positive person with a great attitude towards these children, providing an enthusiastic but challenging classroom environment.

You will be expected to:

• Have experience working with SEN / ASD children.
• Enjoy challenging children to be the best they can be.
• Have great communication skills between all staff members.
• Inspire and motivate the children.
• Use your initiative to adapt activities to meet the needs of each child.
• Work closely with the School SENDCO to support each childs needs.
