Community Care Live is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Fostering team in Wiltshire. You will manage a complex caseload, undertake fostering, kinship and connected persons assessments, and work closely with foster carers to support placements for children.

This full-time, ongoing role offers a competitive rate of up to £40 per hour, with strong emphasis on safeguarding, report writing, and multi‑agency collaboration to ensure stable, positive outcomes for looked-after

Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload within the Family Placement Team.
  • Undertake fostering, kinship and connected persons assessments.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, support and guidance to foster carers.
  • Identify and match appropriate placements to meet children's individual needs.
  • Support placement stability and respond effectively to placement challenges.
  • Contribute to the development, training and retention of foster carers.
  • Act as lead social worker for children in need and children in care.
  • Where required, undertake work with children subject to child protection plans.
  • Complete assessments, investigations and support plans.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences, looked-after children reviews and court proceedings.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers and multi-agency professionals.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, assessed and managed effectively.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records.
  • Deliver high-quality social work interventions that promote positive and sustainable outcomes for children and young people.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker – Fostering to join the Family Placement Team at Wiltshire. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity to support some of the most vulnerable children and young people while working closely with foster carers, supported lodgings carers, short break carers and connected persons carers. You will manage a complex caseload, undertake assessments, provide ongoing support and training to carers, and play a key role in identifying and matching suitable placements for children. Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, you will help strengthen placement stability, improve outcomes for children and contribute to the development and retention of a skilled and resilient fostering community.
