An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Science teacher to inspire students at a mainstream Secondary School in Stoke-on-Trent. This role involves delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity and scientific thinking among students. The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status and a degree in a science-related subject, along with excellent communication and classroom management skills. Initially on a supply basis, this position offers the potential for a permanent role after a successful trial period, making it a fantastic opportunity for passionate educators looking to make a difference.
Based at one of our clients in Stoke - a mainstream Secondary School, Supply Star Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to deliver engaging Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable but not essential). The successful candidate will foster curiosity, promote scientific thinking, and support pupils in achieving their full potential. Initially on a Supply basis however permanent positions are available after a successful trial period.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
Use a variety of teaching strategies to support student progress and engagement
Monitor and assess students' progress regularly
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and safety, especially in practical work
Participate in department planning, meetings, and school-wide initiatives
Contribute to enrichment activities and extra-curricular science clubs
Person Specification:
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in a science-related subject
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
Desirable:
Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 5
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
Experience with exam boards and GCSE/A-Level specification
