Job summary

Academics in the Birmingham area is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to work across a Chelmsley Wood school and nearby settings. You will support pupils educational development, assist the class teacher, and help create a positive, engaging learning environment while covering day-to-day supply, short-term bookings and longer-term roles.

The role requires enthusiasm for SEND pupils, a current enhanced DBS (update service) and relevant qualifications or experience.

Qualifications

• DBS on the update service is required.
• Relevant qualifications or experience are preferred.
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed.

Responsibilities

• Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
• Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom

Position: Primary Teaching Assistant

Location: Chelmsley Wood, B37

We are currently looking for a dedicated and passionate Primary Teaching Assistant to work for one of our schools based in Chelmsley Wood and other schools located in surrounding areas. The chosen candidates will have the opportunity to cover day to day supply, short-term bookings and long-term roles.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant your main responsibilities will consist of:

• Not only supporting pupils educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
• Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom
• Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
• Monitoring students and reporting to designated teacher when needed
• De-escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the schools policies

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Relevant qualifications or experience
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
