Job summary

Academics in Halesowen is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to support pupils and work alongside teachers across our partner schools. This role offers day-to-day supply, short-term bookings, and potential long-term placements in the local area.

You will help create a positive classroom atmosphere, support SEND learners, monitor progress, and follow school policies. A DBS enhanced check is required and ongoing training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
• Qualified (Level 2/3 or Undergraduate degree in Education/Childcare)
• Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils' educational development while assisting the teacher in the classroom
• Creating a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere
• Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
• Monitoring students and reporting progress to the designated teacher
• De-escalating behavioural conflicts and enforcing school policies
