Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate Humanities Teacher to inspire learners across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a supportive school environment in the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will deliver Geography, History and/or Religious Studies with strong subject knowledge, and will differentiate for SEND/SEMH/EAL while building positive relationships with students and parents.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and organisation.
  • Commitment to safeguarding.
  • Experience teaching more than one Humanities subject.
  • Knowledge of GCSE specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons aligned to the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate learning to meet diverse needs incl. SEND/SEMH/EAL.
  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress to raise attainment.
  • Create positive, engaging classroom environments.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment.
  • Build relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development.

Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of learners? We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join a supportive and ambitious school, delivering engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and the ability to teach Humanities subjects, including History, Geography and/or Religious Studies, across a broad range of abilities. You will be committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can achieve their potential and develop a genuine interest in the world around them.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND, SEMH and EAL needs.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment.
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour for learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the Humanities department.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Participate fully in departmental meetings, school events and professional development opportunities.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Humanities subjects at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Experience teaching more than one Humanities subject.
  • Knowledge of GCSE specifications and examination requirements.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND and additional learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
