Job summary

Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Gillingham that is seeking an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join their team for September.

You will teach History, Geography, Religious Education or other Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, and contribute to school life through high expectations and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school.
  • Strong knowledge across Humanities subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging KS3/KS4 lessons.
  • Create a positive inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help students develop knowledge, confidence and critical thinking skills.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and academic achievement.
  • Collaborate with Humanities colleagues.
  • Support extracurricular opportunities where appropriate.

Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher looking for a new opportunity from September? Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Gillingham that is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Humanities Teacher to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys inspiring young people and delivering engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Education or other Humanities disciplines. The successful candidate will join a supportive school environment where high expectations, positive relationships and student achievement are at the heart of the school community.

As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for:
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Supporting students to develop their knowledge, confidence and critical-thinking skills.

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and academic achievement.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department.

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting extracurricular opportunities where appropriate.

We are looking for a Humanities Teacher who:
  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has experience teaching within a secondary school setting.

  • Has strong subject knowledge across one or more Humanities subjects.

  • Can deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.

  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting students.

  • Works effectively as part of a wider school team.

  • Has a genuine passion for education and helping young people achieve their potential.
