Job summary

A public sector client is seeking a qualified HGV Driver to transport waste from Leicestershire County Council’s Recycling and Household Waste Sites to disposal facilities. The role offers a pay rate of £15.50 per hour during training and £16.50 post-qualification. Candidates must hold a valid HGV licence and Driver CPC, with experience in HGVs and waste haulage preferred. Compliance with safety regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with HGVs and waste haulage preferred.
• Familiarity with hook loaders and easy-sheet systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect and transport waste using HGV hook loaders.
• Complete daily job schedules efficiently and accurately.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain clean and fuelled vehicles.
• Wear uniform and PPE at all times.
• Communicate professionally with site staff and the public.
• Follow instructions from Transport Supervisor and Fleet Manager.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
