Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and age-appropriate lessons in line with the curriculum and learning objectives.
• Assess pupils’ learning and use assessment information to identify strengths, gaps and areas for development.
• Differentiate teaching and learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of all pupils.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and positive learning environment within the classroom.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote positive attitudes towards learning.
• Monitor pupils’ progress and maintain accurate records of attainment, attendance and development.
• Provide constructive feedback to pupils to support their academic and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff and other educators to meet pupils’ needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers and colleagues regarding pupils’ progress, behaviour and welfare.
• Identify pupils who may require additional support and work with relevant professionals to implement appropriate interventions.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and personal development alongside their academic learning.
• Follow safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and school policies and procedures.
• Prepare teaching resources, classroom materials and learning activities to support effective lessons.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development and wider school activities.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote high standards of achievement, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
