Job summary

This teaching role focuses on planning, delivering and assessing high-quality, inclusive lessons tailored to diverse learners in a UK educational setting.

You will develop schemes of work aligned with curriculum standards, monitor progress, provide feedback, and work with staff to support safeguarding and learner development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging and inclusive lessons appropriate to learners’ ages, abilities and individual needs.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and learning programmes in line with curriculum requirements and educational standards.
  • Assess learners’ knowledge, skills and progress using appropriate formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Analyse assessment results to identify learning gaps and implement suitable interventions and support.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies, resources and activities to meet a wide range of learning abilities and additional needs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and achievement.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting positive behaviour, respect and a strong learning culture.
  • Provide clear, constructive and timely feedback to learners to support their academic and personal development.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of learner progress, attainment, attendance and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, colleagues and external professionals to meet learners’ needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding learners’ progress, development, attendance and wellbeing.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding, welfare and child protection concerns in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Support learners’ personal, social, emotional and academic development, including preparation for future education, training or employment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development and school or educational setting activities.
  • Contribute to the wider development of the educational setting by sharing good practice and supporting continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
