Job summary

Bristol University Nursery is recruiting a Qualified Early Years Practitioner to join a diverse, multilingual setting serving staff and students. You will work full-time, 40 hours per week, 8.30am–5.30pm, on-site in Bristol, with a salary between £28,778 and £33,002 depending on experience.

The role requires a full Level 3 qualification (Level 2 considered with a different salary) and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Qualifications

  • Must have full Level 3 qualification; Level 2 applications are welcome (salary would differ).
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • DBS checks and references required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide children with a safe, secure and home-like environment.
  • Operate a key person system and liaise with parents and staff.
  • Plan, organise and implement activities to meet each child's needs and interests.
  • Work as part of a highly motivated professional team.
  • Enjoy the variety and spontaneity of early years work.

Overview

Job Vacancy for Qualified Early Years Practitioner.

We are a diverse and unique setting providing childcare for the staff and students at the University. Our families are not just from Bristol but from further afield or abroad. Our children are multilingual and we support them in various ways, including a multilingual staff team. As a setting we focus on ensuring that children and families are settled and feel a sense of belonging in our nursery community. We are a non-profit making charity with the money received from fees going straight to staff and children’s resources. We have a strong management team and committee, with a drive for reflection and improvement. We strive for fun, care and laughter whilst providing wonderful opportunities for the children in our care.

  • Our starting salary range is: £28,778pa to £33,002, depending on experience. (Level 3 qualified, Full -time, 40 hours per week between 8.30am and 5.30pm)
  • One half day per week and a rota given a week in advance. Part time hours available working 9 hour days, minimum of 2 days per week.
  • We are a living wage employer and have annual pay reviews in April
  • Excellent holiday entitlement (35 days) including standard 28 days holiday, extra days for Christmas closure, 2 additional University closure days and extra annual leave for long service.
  • Employers contribute to company pension up to 12.5%.

You must:
