Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Rosyth is seeking a QHSE Manager on the Future Defence Infrastructure Services contract. You will lead QHSE activities to ensure safe, compliant operations and environmental excellence, safeguarding people and the environment.

The role requires 5+ years in QHSE at a managerial level, a Level 6 H&S qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ6), and strong IT skills. You will mentor teams, manage stakeholders, and deputise for the Senior QHSE Manager when needed.

• Level 6 professional H&S qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
• CMIOSH membership is desirable.
• Strong IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Join our team as a QHSE Manager in a rare opportunity on our Future Defence Infrastructure Services contract and play a pivotal role in ensuring that Mitie's operations are executed safely and efficiently. As a key member of the team, you'll be at the forefront of safeguarding our people, clients, and the environment.

Main Duties

• Manage QHSE compliance and risk, ensuring operations meet company standards, legal requirements, environmental obligations and third-party accreditations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and accident investigations, identifying hazards and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Provide QHSE advice, training and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and promoting a positive health and safety culture.
• Manage contractor, client and stakeholder engagement, supporting contract mobilisations, maintaining QHSE documentation and liaising with relevant authorities where required.
• Support the wider QHSE function and senior management, participating in meetings and employee forums, contributing to organisational QHSE objectives and deputising for the Senior QHSE Manager when required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in QHSE, including experience operating at a managerial level.
• Level 6 professional Health & Safety qualification, such as a NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
• CMIOSH membership is desirable, demonstrating recognised professional competence in health and safety.
• Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to use initiative and work effectively and independently.
