Job summary

Sonoco QEHS & Compliance role based in the UK oversees coordination of QEHS systems, documentation and records to ensure legal, company and ISO compliance. You will also manage occupational health activities, health surveillance, and confidential records for new starters.

You will administer incident reporting, track corrective actions, and maintain KPI data while supporting continuous improvement and communications across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain QEHS systems, documentation, records and databases to support compliance with legal, company and ISO requirements.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of management systems, ensuring policies, procedures and records remain current and accessible.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections and compliance reviews, ensuring actions are recorded, monitored and completed within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain compliance trackers and registers, including training, audits, inspections and equipment records.
  • Support the implementation of QEHS initiatives and continuous improvement activities across the site.
  • Coordinate all Occupational Health activities for the site, acting as the main point of contact between employees, HR, QEHS and external Occupational Health providers.
  • Schedule and monitor health surveillance activities, including audiometry, COSHH surveillance, health assessments, etc.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential Occupational Health records, databases and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate Occupational Health requirements for new starters, including health questionnaires, assessments and referrals.
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices and manage administrative requirements relating to Occupational Health services.
  • Administer the site incident and near-miss reporting process through Intelex or equivalent systems.
  • Monitor corrective actions arising from incidents, audits and inspections and follow up with responsible managers to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain records relating to risk assessments, inspections and compliance activities.
  • Escalate overdue actions or significant concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Coordinate QEHS induction, training and refresher programmes for employees.
  • Monitor training completion rates and coordinate follow-up actions for overdue requirements.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of QEHS communications, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
  • Prepare and collate QEHS performance data, reports and meeting information.
  • Coordinate monthly QEHS review meetings, record actions and monitor progress to completion.
  • Maintain QEHS notice boards and communication materials, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance reports and KPI data for site and UK management teams.
  • Manage PPE ordering, stock control and distribution to ensure appropriate equipment is available when required.
  • Provide general coordination and administrative support for site QEHS activities and compliance programmes.
  • Represent the site in relevant QEHS meetings and forums when required.
