Job summary

Reed is seeking a QA and Test Engineer for a 6-month contract, hybrid with 1 day a week in Central London. You will define testing strategy, build automated tests, validate API/integration/data pipelines, and integrate testing into CI/CD.

You’ll work with engineers and product teams to improve quality, monitor metrics, and support release assurance. Active SC clearance is required, with extensive Agile QA experience.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance required.
• Extensive testing and QA experience in Agile delivery.
• Proven test strategy, plan and QA framework experience.
• Strong automated testing framework design/maintenance experience.
• Hands-on API and systems integration testing.
• Experience validating data flows, transformations and reports.
• Functional, regression and end-to-end testing background.
• CI/CD testing integration experience.
• Defect management, root-cause analysis and risk-based testing.
• SQL for data validation and analysis.
• Experience in cloud-hosted environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality test plans and assurance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall testing strategy and quality approach.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test suites.
• Validate platform functionality, integrations and data processing workflows.
• Perform API, integration and data pipeline testing.
• Verify data quality, transformation logic and reporting outputs.
• Support sprint acceptance with independent QA.
• Produce comprehensive test evidence aligned to criteria and milestones.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist deployment validation and release assurance activities.
• Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis and support resolutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and product teams to improve quality.
• Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to design reviews from a quality/testability perspective.
• Support performance, resilience and non-functional testing activities.
• Maintain robust test documentation, traceability and audit trails.
