Zusammenfassung

Reed is seeking a QA and Test Engineer for a 6-month contract, hybrid with 1 day a week in Central London. You will define testing strategy, build automated tests, validate API/integration/data pipelines, and integrate testing into CI/CD.

You’ll work with engineers and product teams to improve quality, monitor metrics, and support release assurance. Active SC clearance is required, with extensive Agile QA experience.

We are currently seeking a QA and Test Engineer to support the ongoing evolution, maintenance, and enhancement of a cloud-based occupancy data platform hosted within AWS. Day-to-day of the role:

• Define and maintain the overall testing strategy and quality approach for the platform.
• Develop and execute both manual and automated test suites.
• Validate platform functionality, integrations, and data processing workflows.
• Perform API, integration, and data pipeline testing.
• Verify data quality, transformation logic, and reporting outputs.
• Support sprint acceptance activities through independent quality assurance.
• Produce comprehensive test evidence aligned to acceptance criteria and delivery milestones.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active SC Clearance.
• Extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance within Agile delivery environments.
• Proven experience developing test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Hands‑on expertise in API testing and systems integration testing.
• Experience validating complex data flows, transformations, and reporting outputs.
• Strong background in functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience integrating testing activities into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of defect management, root cause analysis, and risk-based testing methodologies.
• SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
• Experience working within modern cloud-hosted environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality test plans, documentation, and assurance reporting.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience testing AWS-hosted platforms.
• Data pipeline and ETL testing experience.
• Experience testing event-driven or serverless architectures.
• Exposure to IoT, telemetry, sensor-based, or smart building technologies.
