Job summary

OHUK is seeking a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer for a West London project focused on MEP installations. The role ensures all activities meet quality, specification and project standards, with hands-on inspections across electrical works and other MEP systems.

You will manage QA/QC procedures, review ITPs, raise NCRs, maintain documentation, and support audits. Strong electrical background and experience on large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably HS2, are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Experience in QA/QC within MEP or electrical construction.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of ITPs, NCRs, QA/QC procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain project quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Carry out inspections and quality checks across electrical and MEP installations.
  • Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and submissions.
  • Ensure works are completed per specifications, drawings and standards.
  • Raise, record and close NCRs and quality issues.
  • Complete inspection records and maintain quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with site management, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Monitor installation quality and identify improvement areas.
  • Ensure testing and inspection requirements are documented.
  • Liaise with client, consultants and stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer

Location: West London - HS2

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all MEP installation and construction activities are completed to the required quality, specification and project standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and maintaining project quality assurance and quality control procedures
  • Carrying out inspections and quality checks across electrical and MEP installations
  • Reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and technical submissions
  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings and relevant standards
  • Raising, recording and closing out NCRs and quality issues
  • Completing inspection records and maintaining accurate quality documentation
  • Working closely with site management, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Monitoring installation quality and identifying areas for improvement
  • Ensuring relevant testing and inspection requirements are completed and documented
  • Liaising with the client, consultants and other project stakeholders where required
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of project quality processes
The Ideal Candidate

We are ideally looking for someone from an electrical engineering / electrical installation background who has progressed into a QA/QC position.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working in QA/QC within MEP or electrical construction
  • A strong electrical bias/background
  • Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Good understanding of electrical installation, inspection and testing
  • Knowledge of ITPs, NCRs, quality inspections and QA/QC procedures
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience working with clients, consultants and project teams
  • Ideally, experience working on HS2 or other major infrastructure projects
