Base pay range
We’re seeking an experienced Lead QA Analyst to oversee QA delivery across client projects and internal product development. You will be hands-on with planning and execution, collaborating closely with QA Manager, Production, and Engineering to ensure quality throughout development in a creative and technically ambitious environment.
This is a 12-month contract role. While on-site at our St Albans studio is preferred, remote work is also considered for the right candidate. There may be potential for a permanent position in the future.
Contract dates: c. 16 June 2025 - c. 16 June 2026
Responsibilities
- Plan, strategize, and manage QA activities for assigned projects across all platforms.
- Own all QA activities, including test plans, user stories, test cases, and hands-on testing.
- Lead testing efforts, construct test cases, and oversee test suite execution, participating actively when needed.
- Collaborate with Production, QA leadership, Testers, Engineers, and other teams to identify risks, plan strategies, define quality standards, prioritize testing, and ensure deliverables meet Magnopus quality standards.
- Report progress and provide actionable feedback to stakeholders.
- Manage daily activities of QA Analysts, ensuring output meets standards.
- Delegate tasks effectively, optimize test hours within budget.
- Define, document, and communicate goals, values, and processes.
- Identify risks early and support test planning during development.
- Create and execute detailed test plans, regress defects, and validate fixes.
- Provide quality feedback, user suggestions, and project reports.
- Ensure adherence to QA policies and promote best practices.
- Evaluate and develop tools to support QA operations.
- Facilitate communication between QA and other disciplines.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and mentoring QA team members.
- Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience testing entertainment or Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) software.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and test management tools.
- Knowledge of various testing approaches including exploratory and destructive testing.
- Experience with defect tracking and lifecycle management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document testing processes clearly.
- Methodical, analytical, and detail-oriented approach.
- Self-motivated, proactive, capable of working independently and in teams.
- Leadership experience in QA efforts within cross-disciplinary teams.
- Experience creating test plans, executing tests, analyzing QA metrics.
- Knowledge of game engines like Unity or Unreal.
- Experience with performance and stress testing.
- Ability to document processes for users and maintainers.
- Experience testing on major gaming platforms (PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox).
Nice to haves
- Familiarity with QA methods in product-focused and R&D environments.
- Experience in QA tool or pipeline development is a plus.
