Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods Poultry in Eye, Suffolk, is hiring a QA professional for maternity cover at our brand new processing facility. The role involves safeguarding product quality through GMP and audits while supporting a fast-paced production environment.

You will work 4 days a week on a 3-week rotation (06:10-17:10) or Mon-Fri 17:10-01:40; overtime may be available. Benefits include attendance bonuses, pension contributions, a share scheme and gym membership.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene/Safety certification required.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot by walking the factory floor and take corrective action.
• Manage corrective actions with timely documentation.
• Audit paperwork and ensure production records are correct.
• Perform hygiene audits, micro swabbing and sampling.
• Check online verifier and address issues.
• Conduct GMP, fabrication and process control audits.
• Document checks on production runs against specs.
• Potential overtime and career progression in technical departments.

Cranswick Country Foods Poultry is hiring at our brand new, purpose‑built processing facility in Eye, Suffolk.

As part of our exciting expansion project we are now recruiting for a maternity cover for our QA position,

1. 1) Working 4 days a week on a 3 week rotation 06:10-17:10.
2. 2) Working Monday-Friday 17:10-01:40

Job requirements of QA:

• Troubleshooting – ‘Walking the factory floor’ to identify any issues ahead of them arising and taking appropriate action. Dealing with issues as and when required.
• Managing Corrective actions – making sure corrective actions are completed within appropriate timescales and that the relevant documents have been completed, e.g. hold log, non‑conformance log. Reporting any complex issues to QA Supervisor or QA Manager.
• Audit paperwork – checking the production paperwork has been completed correctly by production staff (Checking production line paperwork)
• Hygiene Audits, micro swabbing and micro sampling product
• Checking the ‘online’ verifier and dealing with any issues
• Formal GMP, Fabrication and Process Control Audits
• Conduct documented checks that a % of the production run is within product specification
• Opportunity to work an overtime outside of your standard hours and potential career progression across other technical departments

What you will need:

• Be self‑motivated and able to work on your own initiative
• Be able to work additional hours as overtime may be required
• Ideally have experience of working within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment
• Have a good level of both written and verbal English
• Ideally have Level 2 Food Hygiene/Safety certification

Pay and benefits:

• 1) Hourly Rate – £15.46 per hour including weekly attendance bonus
• 2) Hourly Rate – £16.22 per hour including weekly attendance bonus
• Overtime – time and a third after basic hours
• Pension – 3% employer contributions/5% employee contributions
