Job summary

Symmetric Recruitment Ltd in Plymouth is seeking a QA Engineer to own testing across our software products. You will work with developers and product owners to ensure releases are stable, reliable and ready for real-world use, mixing manual testing with automation opportunities.

You’ll build test plans, run test cycles, log defects, support agile delivery, and help grow automation with tools like Selenium, Cypress or Playwright. A collaborative, detail‑oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• QA / software testing experience in a commercial setting.
• Solid manual testing skills (functional + regression).
• Understanding of web/app testing, APIs, user flows and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with Jira, TestRail, Zephyr or similar tools.
• Collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build and run test plans, test cases and regression packs.
• Log defects clearly and push fixes through to completion.
• Work within Agile sprints: stand-ups, planning, retros.
• Maintain test documentation and quality standards.
• Help grow automation with tools like Selenium, Cypress or Playwright (if experienced).
• Support CI/CD, test environments and quality gates.
