Job description

Superior Recruitment Group is working with a major client based in Somerset who is seeking a QA Engineer. This is a PAYE position.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and supporting QA documentation.
• Provide technical support related to Quality for projects and maintenance.
• Review vendor and supplier Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
• Liaise with Welding Engineers and Project Engineers regarding documentation submission and QA requirements for projects and maintenance.
• Coordinate and advise on material certification, welding, NDT, and other quality requirements.
• Coordinate the QA/QC Engineering functions within M, E & I disciplines for BP FPS.
• Liaise with third-party inspectors and coordinate inspection activities.
• Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with the client’s QA departments.
• Maintain all quality documentation and records within the Company’s CMS.
• Monitor and review quality performance against KPIs.
• Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the company.
• Conduct internal and external quality audits.
• Support a strong workshop HSE culture.

Experience and Qualifications

• Good engineering and QA/QC background.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
• Experience in developing and reviewing project QA documentation and supplier QA documentation.
• Familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques.
• Ability to read and understand isometric drawings.
• Understanding of pipe standards and specifications.
• Radiographic interpretation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Understanding of fabrication, welding, and NDT techniques.
• Good communication and report writing skills.

Role Qualifications

• CSWIP Level 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector.
• PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation.
• Chartered Quality Institute membership (Desirable).
• Recognised Internal Auditor qualification.
• ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering (Desirable).

WIMS Requirements

• Recognised Engineering Qualification (ONC / BTEC / C&G).
• JB15A / A Associate Diploma of Engineering and Advanced Certificate in Engineering.

Mandatory

• CCNSG certification.
