Job summary

Opencast is seeking a Quality Assurance consultant to ensure quality from the start through testing, questioning and improving across government, healthcare and purpose-driven client projects.

You’ll work as the sole software test engineer on some projects or with a team, promoting the Opencast approach in an agile environment and mentoring juniors while adapting tools and processes. Regular on-site attendance and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience as the sole software test engineer on a team.
• Ability to write, run and debug automated tests (front-end and API).
• Experience presenting work to stakeholders and managing defects to resolution.
• Ability to create user stories and technical tasks from requirements.
• Familiarity with version control and peer review processes.
• Experience creating test plans and reports and participating in E2E/UAT.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing activities and ensure quality across projects.
• Collaborate with team members, clients and users to maintain quality and promote best practices.
• Mentor junior colleagues and promote Opencast's QA approach.
• Ensure compliance with quality, environmental and information security policies.
