Job summary

Methods is seeking a QA Automation Engineer in the UK to design, develop and maintain automated tests using Java across APIs, journeys and integrations. You will work with developers, DevOps and product teams to ensure robust release evidence and reliable quality from the automation suite.

You will own automation quality, investigate failures and continuously improve test coverage, reliability and maintainability of test suites in distributed services, with emphasis on evidence from tests and

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java programming skills with automated test code maintenance.
• Experience with Serenity BDD, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium WebDriver and REST Assured.
• Understanding of HTTP/REST APIs, JSON, authentication, validation and error handling.
• Experience testing distributed or microservice-based applications with asynchronous processing.
• Ability to verify business workflows across service boundaries using SQL and logs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated API, integration and end-to-end tests using Java and standard frameworks.
• Contribute to reusable test components and maintainable automation frameworks.
• Define testable acceptance criteria with product owners.
• Integrate tests within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and provide feedback.
• Investigate failures and improve suite reliability including flaky tests.
