Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a Quality Engineer with automation expertise to design, build, and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and integration testing. You’ll integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and work with developers and DevOps to improve delivery speed and quality.

You will contribute to QA standards, mentor teammates, and help implement scalable automation frameworks in a modern, containerized environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, RestAssured, Postman.
• Proficient in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Experience building automation frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with Agile, DevOps, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of test design, debugging, and root cause analysis.
• Git and code review practices.
• Nice to have performance/security testing or reliability engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, integration, performance, and API testing.
• Build automation frameworks using industry-standard tools and modern languages.
• Develop optimized test scenarios with comprehensive test coverage.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines with DevOps collaboration.
• Monitor test execution, troubleshoot failures, and provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and testing practices.
• Participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement to ensure quality is built in.
• Drive adoption of automation tools and best practices across teams.
