Job summary

Cboe Global Markets is seeking a Python Developer to join their team in London. The role includes designing and building reliable Python systems for trading operations while closely collaborating with business development and sales teams to create new products. Ideal candidates should have strong Python knowledge, be committed to writing testable code, and possess a degree in Computer Science or related fields. Experience with SQL and basic Linux knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Solid Python knowledge is crucial for this role.
• A commitment to writing testable and maintainable code is expected.
• Knowledge of SQL and the ability to compose complex queries is required.
• Basic Linux knowledge is necessary.
• Solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures is important.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with TDD, BDD or other testing methodologies is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and Snowflake will be beneficial.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI is preferred.
• Familiarity with event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka would be an advantage.
• Understanding of data pipeline platforms such as Apache Airflow is preferred.
• Familiarity with Java is also beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business development and sales teams to develop innovative new products.
• Design and build highly reliable, highly testable Python systems.
• Contribute to complex projects including analyzing requirements and implementing features.
• Collaborate closely with other developers in Europe and the US.
• Participate in various R&D projects to implement promising new technologies.
• Debug complex engineering and operational problems.
• Provide operational support for Cboe Europe’s trading systems.
