Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the IP - Network Services to drive design, development, and delivery of trusted, scalable tech products in a secure environment. You will contribute as a core technical engineer across multiple areas supporting the firm’s objectives.

You will lead agile teams, set standards for AI-assisted development, automate where possible, and mentor peers while ensuring resilient, secure software engineering practices across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience developing in Python.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s).
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to validate AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Practical experience in cloud computing and network technologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine.
• Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve automation and value.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architectural designs and applicability.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness of new technologies.
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
