Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in London seeks a Lead Software Engineer within IP - Network Services. You will join an agile team delivering trusted, scalable tech in a secure environment, contributing across multiple domains and ensuring robust production quality.

As a core engineer, you will design, develop, and review Python code, lead AI-assisted development practices, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to improve architecture, security, and reliability of our network data services.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.
• Practical experience in cloud computing and networking technologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reuse of patterns.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC tools and automation capabilities to improve value realized by automation.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability of software applications and systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams on architectural designs and applicability for use within existing systems.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new technologies.
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
