Job Title: Purification Development Scientist (FTC)

Introduction to role:
Are you ready to explore the depths of science and innovation? As a Purification Development Scientist (15 month FTC), you'll be part of the Purification Process Sciences (PPS) group, driving the development and execution of purification activities. Your work will support our growing portfolio of recombinant proteins and new molecular formats. Dive into the world of biomolecule purification and make a tangible impact!

Accountabilities:
• Design, plan, execute, and report biomolecule purification experiments at various scales, including antibodies, Fc fusion molecules, bispecifics, and more.
• Analyze biomolecules using standard methods such as HPLC, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Capillary Electrophoresis, and Spectrophotometry.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records through electronic lab notebooks and data management systems.
• Author reports and internal documentation.
• Conduct general laboratory activities, including buffer preparation and routine equipment maintenance.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• At least a BSc in a related biochemistry/bioprocessing/biochemical engineering field, ideally with further postgraduate qualification and/or extensive postgraduate experience in a related field. Understand the principle of biomolecule manufacturing.
• Experience with chromatography systems (AKTAs) at various scales and a good understanding of chromatography techniques, e.g., Affinity/IEX/HIC. Experience with tangential flow filtration.
• Experience with biologics downstream process development.
• Experience with biomolecule analysis - using standard methods including HPLC, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Capillary Electrophoresis, Spectrophotometer.
• Familiar with data management system such as LIMS.
• Demonstrate significant autonomy in terms of experimental design and execution.
• Able to work with multiple projects and serotypes concurrently.
• Hardworking, organized, balanced, and meticulous with an ability to work well under pressure.
• Adaptable and a team player with a conscientious attitude and enthusiasm.
• Participate in group discussions and provide novel solutions to a variety of problems of diverse scope involving basic scientific principles.
• Desire to learn and build on the role.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Application of Multifactorial Statistical Design software to the development of Bioprocesses.
