The Client:

We are working with a leading global manufacturing business in Telford that has experienced continual growth over the last decade. They are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their management team, leading and developing the site procurement function. The Purchasing Manager will oversee procurement and purchasing of all goods, materials, and services, with a focus on meeting the organization’s sustainability objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a reputable and expanding business.

The Role:

1. Manage procurement and purchasing of all direct and indirect commodities for a manufacturing facility.
2. Maintain effective stock levels within company objectives.
3. Manage contracted services such as waste, energy, and others.
4. Ensure demand forecasts are accurate and implemented.
5. Manage supplier relationships from sourcing to performance management.
6. Negotiate and approve supplier contracts aligned with company goals.
7. Utilize the supplier portal effectively.
8. Support ERP system implementation and usage.
9. Drive cost savings and benchmarking activities.
10. Manage the purchasing team effectively.

The Person:

• Extensive experience in purchasing, procurement, and supply chain within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing both direct and indirect categories.
• Experience working with international partners.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and strategic development.
• Previous roles such as Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Senior Buyer, or Purchasing Supervisor.
• Experience with supplier portal systems and ERP systems.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience leading a small team is desirable.
