Job Title: Purchasing Manager

About the role:

To ensure ongoing expansion, we are looking for an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to lead our existing Purchasing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the efficient flow of parts from suppliers to customers. In this exciting role, you will play a critical role in optimising our supply chain for efficiency and cost effectiveness, while ensuring alignment with our commitment to ESG principles.

The successful candidate will be provided with full and comprehensive support and training.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Day to day management and support within our busy Purchasing function including analysis of supply chain metrics; costs, lead times, service levels etc.
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies and process improvements to enhance supply chain capabilities to reduce the environmental impact across the supply chain.
  3. Implement sourcing strategies, with both new and existing suppliers, to ensure cost-effective material acquisition.
  4. Regular collaboration, support, and auditing of existing suppliers to ensure compliance, ethical sourcing practices and alignment with our UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  5. Develop supply chain contingency plans and implement supply chain risk management programs.
  6. Demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  7. Supplier relationship and performance management including negotiation.
  8. Production and management of tenders.
  9. Inter-departmental liaison with relevant stakeholders.
  10. Collaboration with the in-house supply chain (Research and Development, Product Design, QA and Sales).

Ideal Candidate Background:

  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record of optimising processes and driving efficiency.
  2. Bachelor's degree and/or qualified / part qualified CIPS.
  3. Proven track record of managing and leading a team.
  4. Have a genuine interest in procurement practices.
  5. Passionate about sustainability practices and customer focus.
  6. Strategic knowledge of supply chain management.
  7. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Self-motivated, confident, and proactive.
  9. Commercially aware.
  10. An effective team player.
  11. A change champion.
  12. Good IT, literacy, numerical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  13. Excellent attention to detail.
  14. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Terms and Conditions:

Full-time, permanent position. Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm (subject to the needs of the role). 30-minute lunch break. Monthly Pay in arrears by the 28th day of each month.
