Job description

A global manufacturing business specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of a range of static tension and compression testing machines, including specialist grips, fixtures and applications is looking for a Purchasing Executive/Buyer to join the team in Redhill.

This is a multi-function role incorporating functions such as MRP Planner and Senior Buyer. You will be involved inthe procurement ofmaterials and goods on behalf of the company at the best

possible price and quality on time and in conjunction with stock control.

Responsibilities as Purchasing Executive/Buyer:

• Minimising costs and delays to the production of products and services by efficient scheduling and placement of orders.
• Convert planned orders to firmed purchase or internal works orders.
• Source, negotiate and secure quality vendors.
• Minimise stock holding where possible to ensure stock rotation (including adding details of vendor and parts specification to ERP as well as prices and lead times.)
• Communicate external orders to vendors as appropriate ensuring accurate pricing, unit of measure, quantity and lead-time requirement/details where practical.
• Secure confirmed vendor confirmations and enter into ERP system.Ensuring accuracy at all times.
• Communicate any issues within supply chain to affected departments.
• Monitor Manage stock holding/order placing.
• Monitor Manage internal and external data to ensure ERP is up to date at all times
• The role also involves liasing with a remote team of buyers and planners in the Indian branch of the company.

We're looking for a Purchasing Executive/Buyer with:

• Experiencein a similar field is preferred.
• Apprentice and/or trained time served, CIPS, NVQ / BTEC HND / HNC in Supply Chain Management is advantageous.
• Knowledge in AX dynamics would be an advantage.
• Technical experience.
• Highly organised.
• Multi-tasking ability
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• International experience would be an advantage.

Working hours:

• Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00
• Friday: 08:00-16:00
