Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Purchasing Administrator to support procurement for field engineering teams. You will raise POs, manage stock replenishment, and ensure compliance with procurement processes.

As part of a fast-paced service environment, you will liaise with engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, handle PODs, and assist with onboarding and WEEE waste processes. Strong administrative and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least three years in admin or purchasing role.
  • Experience in technical service or engineering environment desired.
  • Familiar with COUPA, CASH or similar procurement systems.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Prioritise multiple tasks and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage van stock replenishment for regional engineers to ensure continuity of service delivery.
  • Raise purchase orders within SLA timescales to support regional projects and service works.
  • Process purchase orders through COUPA and CASH systems, ensuring accuracy and timely receipting.
  • Chase suppliers for POD documentation and update internal databases accordingly.
  • Coordinate loan equipment and manage equipment repair and return processes.
  • Support supplier onboarding and maintain compliance with vendor approval procedures.
  • Manage the WEEE waste process to ensure responsible disposal and recycling of stock.
  • Provide procurement support across the region, including cover during absence where required.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Business Management System and internal processes.

Job description

This is a key support role, ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of materials, equipment, and services required by our field engineering teams. You will work closely with engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain high service standards and ensure compliance with company processes.

Job Overview

As Purchasing Administrator, you will play an integral part in keeping our operations running efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing van stock replenishment for regional engineers to ensure continuity of service delivery.
  • Raising purchase orders within agreed SLA timescales to support regional projects and service works.
  • Processing purchase orders through COUPA and CASH systems, ensuring accuracy and timely receipting.
  • Chasing suppliers for Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and updating internal databases accordingly.
  • Coordinating loan equipment and managing equipment repair and return processes.
  • Supporting supplier onboarding and maintaining compliance with Mitie's vendor approval procedures.
  • Managing the WEEE waste process to ensure responsible disposal and recycling of stock.
  • Providing procurement support across the region, including cover during absence where required.
  • Ensuring full compliance with the company's Business Management System and internal processes.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in an administrative or purchasing role.
  • Experience working in a technical service or engineering-led environment (desirable).
  • Familiarity with COUPA, CASH for Windows, or similar procurement systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
  • A proactive, professional approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence liaising with engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • An awareness of electronic security systems (advantageous but not essential).
