Job summary

RG Consultancy are partnering with a Wigan-based SME to recruit an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a small but growing finance team. You will take ownership of the purchase ledger and report to the Finance Manager.

This role focuses on processing invoices, matching and coding, supplier statements and month-end support, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable essential.
• AAT qualification or studying advantageous.
• Strong MS Excel and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and post a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and on time.
• Match, code and verify invoices against purchase orders as required.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and ensure timely payments.
• Respond to supplier and internal payment/invoice queries.
• Maintain accurate purchase ledger and support month-end processes.
• Assist the finance team with general accounts administration.
