Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd is assisting a client in the Ipswich area who are recruiting a Purchase Ledger to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with a salary of £25,000 to £30,000 per year, depending on experience.

You will handle purchase invoices and credit notes, manage POs, reconcile supplier statements, and support month-end processes. The role requires accuracy, good Excel skills, and prior purchase ledger experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable position.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, POs, and supplier reconciliations.
• Attention to detail with ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Good organisational skills to meet month-end deadlines.
• Confident using accounting systems; Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

• Process authorised purchase invoices and credit notes using AP software.
• Manage purchase orders, match delivery notes, check part numbers, monitor open POs/GRNI.
• Manage the purchase ledger inbox and resolve supplier queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and aged creditors, investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly/monthly supplier payment runs and verify payment details.
• Support month-end processes: invoice cut-off, accruals, stock reconciliations.
• Assist with credit card and bank reconciliations, sales ledger, BOM accounting.
• Develop spreadsheets, reports and finance processes, including AI to improve efficiency.
