Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk in Maidstone to manage supplier invoices, code costs and reconcile ledgers. You will process invoices, match against orders, handle queries and support month-end tasks.

The role offers an hourly rate of £14–£16, on-site parking and a temporary contract with potential for progression. You will work with a focused finance team to maintain accurate supplier records and timely payments.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchase ledger or similar accounting/finance role.
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers and colleagues.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process and code supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid on time.
• Reconcile supplier statements to maintain accurate records.
• Assist with month-end tasks, including ledger reviews and reporting.
• Maintain organised and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes where needed.
