We now invite applications for the above position based at our Omagh mill.

Fane Valley Feeds is one of the largest feed manufacturers in Northern Ireland with an annual production capacity in excess of 300,000 tonnes. The Fane Valley Feed mills are committed to producing the highest quality dairy, beef, sheep, pig and poultry feeds formulated to meet the needs of individual farmers.

Reporting to the Company Accountant, the Purchase Ledger Clerk will play an integral role within the accounts function.

The Role:

  • Processing a high volume of purchase invoices to a computerised system;
  • Updating and maintaining Document Management Software, EI Trax;
  • Creation of purchase orders for expenses and matching invoices to purchase orders and investigating queries;
  • Liaise with relevant departments to deal with any unapproved or query invoices;
  • Reconciling suppliers' statements to accounts system and dealing with supplier queries/issues;
  • Assisting in preparation of supplier payments;
  • Other monthly account reconciliations and ad-hoc administrative duties.

The Person:

  • Must either have a minimum of 1 year, recent experience in purchase ledger or other general experience of working in an accounts department;
  • Strong understanding of the full accounts payable process;
  • Strong IT skills with experience in Microsoft Office applications and ideally have experience of computerised accounting software;
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner;
  • Ability to work on your own initiative within a busy team where attention to detail is a necessity;
  • Experience of Dynamics AX and EI Trax software would be desirable;
  • Preferably have had relevant training or a qualification in Finance.
