Job summary

A leading pension scheme provider in Liverpool is looking for a motivated Purchase Ledger Clerk to manage the purchase ledger and contribute to financial processes. This role includes processing invoices, managing supplier queries, and performing reconciliations. Ideal candidates will possess accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. Qualifications

  • Experience in purchase ledger accounting is essential.
  • Knowledge of SUN systems is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices and journals accurately and on time.
  • Manage supplier queries and purchase ledger operations.
  • Support the Finance team with project work.
  • Proactively managing purchase ledger inbox and liaising closely with non‑finance colleagues.
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records, being proactive about resolving issues or queries.
  • Processing sales invoices, credit control and reconciliations.
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations for corporate entities.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with project work and initiatives as required.
  • Providing support and Value for Money activities and benchmarking costs.
  • Responding to ad‑hoc requests; sourcing data and providing additional financial analysis when the business requires.

About the role

In your role as Purchase Ledger Clerk you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to operate and maintain the purchase ledger, enhancing budgetary control and accountability through ongoing process improvements.

What you will be doing
  • Processing invoices and journals to the accounting system within deadlines.
  • Processing various payment runs with high levels of accuracy.
  • Dealing with supplier queries.
  • Proactively managing purchase ledger inbox and liaising closely with non‑finance colleagues.
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records, being proactive about resolving issues or queries.
  • Processing sales invoices, credit control and reconciliations.
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations for corporate entities.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with project work and initiatives as required.
  • Providing support and Value for Money activities and benchmarking costs.
